Timeline | Anticipated Construction Completion: Q4 of 2025

This restoration project centers on returning the home to its architectural roots, carefully balancing preservation with thoughtful transformation. A poorly integrated 1970s attic addition — visually incongruent and structurally compromised — will be removed and replaced with new construction that restores the original roofline and reestablishes harmony with the home’s historic character. The new design not only reclaims the home’s architectural integrity but also enhances its functionality with spaces better suited to modern living. As part of the broader restoration effort, all existing windows throughout the home are being replaced with new units that replicate the original profiles, improving energy performance while honoring the historic aesthetic.

Tucked into the footprint of a former attic stairwell, a new compact bathroom addition transforms an underutilized space into a highly functional and beautifully detailed retreat. Though modest in size, the design delivers a rich experience through integrated layered lighting, a stone vanity surface that wraps seamlessly into the shower, and a blend of classic and modern details. Handmade soft green subway tile, a floating walnut vanity, hexagonal floor tile, and polished nickel fixtures come together to create a space that feels both rooted in tradition and refreshed with a modern sensibility. Every element — from the integrated niches to the subtle lighting transitions — was carefully considered to maximize functionality and elevate the sense of comfort and sophistication.
