The Knickerbocker Residence

This two-story home renovation project in Madison, WI, is a collaborative effort between the client, Level Design Studio, and TDS Custom Construction. We were presented with an existing interior layout that was both inefficient and had cumbersome circulation patterns, which impeded the home’s functionality. To remedy this, we embarked on a bold approach: removing nearly all existing interior walls, which allowed us to reimagine the flow and relationship of each interior space. Through a series of space planning exercises, we arrived at a new layout that is more efficient, functional, and aligned with how the client lives and uses each space.

No detail was overlooked. From the new kitchen cabinetry to the bespoke built-ins seamlessly woven throughout, each component is meticulously crafted to enhance both aesthetic appeal and functionality. We eagerly await the moment when all of the carefully curated finishes, details, and fixtures come to life, illuminating a newly cohesive space with a renewed sense of vitality and sophistication.
